Siblings of John Wilkinson 1897-1969 William Wilkinson was born in 1891 at Choppington, Northumberland. He married Margaret A Todd in 1919 and they had three children, Elizabeth born 1923,Nancy born 1930 and Ida born 1932. James   Thornton   Wilkinson    was   born   in   1894   at   Choppington.   He   married   Mary   Jane   Hostler   in   1919   and   they   had   two children.   Grace   was   born   in   1920   and   William   was   born   in   1921.   Grace   married   Edward   Ward   and   they   had   two   sons,   David and   Ray.   David   worked   for   many   years   in   Dubai   and   Turkey   and   has   now   settled   in   Australia   with   his   wife   Liz.   Graces   husband Ted worked in the Wedgewood factory at Stoke on Trent. Esther Hindhaugh Wilkinson was born at Choppington in June 1895 but died at the age of 22 in 1918 Annie   Thornton   Wilkinson   was   born   on   20   June   1899   at   Choppington.   She   married   another   Wilkinson,   James,   in   1917   and they   had   five   children.   John   Wilkinson   was   born   in   1918   at   Ashington,   George   was   born   in   1922,   also   at   Ashington,   Cuthbert Winship   Wilkinson   was   born   on   8   July   1924,   Anne   Thornton   Wilkinson   was   born   in   1929   at   Stakeford   and   Rose   Wilkinson   was born   in   1936,   also   at   Stakeford.   George   married   Dorothy   Routledge   in   1948   at   Choppington.   They   had   three   children,   George   C born   1949,   Angela   M,   born   1950   and   John,   born   1953.   Cuthbert   married   Edna   M   Hopper   in   1948   and   they   had   two   sons,   James born   1949   and   Richard,   born   1953.   They   moved   to   the   Stoke   on   Trent   area   where   Cuthbert   worked   at   Silverdale   Colliery.   Anne Thornton   married   George   Hinchley   in   1951   and   they   also   had   two   sons,   Alan,   born   1952   and   Roy,   born   1959.   Rose   married Robert Strachan in 1951 at West Sleekburn and they also had two children, Robert, born 1959 and Andrea, born 1966 Mary Wilkinson was born in 1901 at Choppington and married James Godfrey in 1922. They had two children, James C, born 1922 and Elizabeth, born 1924, both at Morpeth. Dorothy   Wilkinson   was   born   16   April   1903   at   Choppington.   She   married   John   Roberts   in   1927   and   they   had   one   son, Edward,   born   1931.   Edward   (Ted)   married   Edna   Hollis   in   1952   at   Manchester.   They   had   one   daughter,   Dorothy,   born   1953   at Newcastle.   Ted   and   Edna   settled   in   Scunthorpe,   Lincs,   and   Dorothy   went   to   live   with   them   after   her   husband   died.   She   lived with them until she died in 1990. Frances Wilkinson was born in 1907 at Choppington. She married George Hall in 1927 and they had one son, John, born 1933 in Ashington. John is the most illustrious person in the family. He worked as a colliery surveyor and then as an estate agent. Following his marriage to Mae Cameron in 1950, he formed a company, Cameron Hall, and built the Metro shopping centre at Gateshead. He was knighted in 1991. He then bought Newcastle United football club and brought in Kevin Keegan as manager with amazing success, just missing out on the premiership. It was the attacking style of play which brought much admiration from all parts of the country. He then bought Newcastle Rugby club. They had two children, Douglas, born 1958 and Allison, born 1970. Thomas   Wilkinson   was   born   31   March   1907   at   Choppington.   He   married   Elizabeth   Farrell   in   1930   and   they   had   two   sons, James, born about 1930 and Robert, born 1931. Robert married Barbara E Mackay in 1969 at Alnwick Register Office. Elizabeth Wilkinson was born in 1913 at Choppington. She married John Sanderson in 1934 and they had three sons, James born 1935, John F born 1936 and Edward I born 1942. James emigrated to Australia and lived in the Melbourne area. Lizzie and John also emigrated and live in the same area. They both died there.
