Isabella
Clement
Wade
was
born
in
1886

Street,County
Durham.
Her
christian
names
would be after her Great Grandmother, Isabella Clement. Unfortunately Isabella died in childhood in June 1981.

I
cannot
find
any
records
to
indicate
if
she
did
or
did
not
get
married.
There
is
a
death
registration
which
may
refer
to
her
indicating that she died in 1962 aged 71 - Durham Western Vol 1a Page 888
Eleanor
Wade
was
born
on
18
December
1894
at
Trimdon,
County
Durham.
She
married
James
W
Henderson
in
March
1914
but
he
was
killed
in
action
on
1
October
1915
in
Flanders.
They
had
two
children
John
and
Mildred
(Millie)
John
used
to
drive
a
grocers
van
around
local
villages,
including
Shilbottle.
After
my
father
died,
everyone
was
walking
on
eggshells
round
my
mother.
It
was
John
who
gave
her
a
good
talking
to
and
reminded
her
of
her
responsibilities
to
her
children.
She
later
thanked
him
for
his
straight
talking
although
I
can’t
imagine
her
being
too
impressed
at
the
time.
John
married
Margaret
E
Millican
in
1938
and
had
two
children,
Malcolm
and
Keith.
Malcolm
died
young,
drowning
while
swimming
in
a
the
River
Coquet,
near
the
Black
Bridge
at
Warkworth.
Millie
married
William
Henry
in
1933
and,
I
think
they
had
one
child,
Patricia,
born
1942.
When
I
was
10
or
11
I
used
to
bike
down
to
Amble
and
go
sea
fishing
with
Willie.
I
then
took
my
share
of
the
catch
to
Harry
Nyberg’s
fish
and
chip
shop
at
Shilbottle
in
exchange
for
a
fish
and
chip
supper.
The
first
time
Eileen
and
me
ever
went
abroad
was
to
Majorca
for
our
tenth
wedding
anniversary.
We
went
with
my
mother
and
Millie.
I
think
she
sang
‘The
harbour
lights’
all
the
way
back
home.
Eleanor
married
Lundy
Hind
in
1918
and
they
had
two
daughters,
Catherine
born
1921
and
Eleanor
born
1924.
Late
in
life,
after
Lundy
died
Eleanor
moved
into
Shortridge
Hall,
an
old
peoples
home.
Her
daughters
then
persuaded
her
to
move
to
a
residential
home
at
Kingsbury,
near
Tamworth.
Once
when
my
mother
was
visiting
us,
she
asked
if
we
would
run
her
across
to
Kingsbury
to
visit
Eleanor.
I
had
just
taken
delivery
of
a
brand
new
car
that
morning
and
wasn’t
too
keen
on
leaving
it
in
that
area,
so
I
stayed
with
the
car
when
mother
went
inside.
When
she
came
back,
the
car
wouldn’t
start.
I
refused
to
bump
start
a
brand
new
car
so
I
rang
the
garage.
They came out and bump started it. Anyway, forgetting the car, what a missed opportunity!
Elizabeth
(Lizzie)
Wade
was
born
in
June
1987
at
Amble
in
Northumberland,
the
first
of
the
Wades
to
be
born
outside
County
Durham.
She
married
James
G
Gillon
in
1920
and
had
four
children,
William,
born
1921,
John,
born
1922,
Maisie,
born
1926
and
Margaret,
born
1930.
Apparently
her
husband
was
a
bit
of
a
drinker
and
only
went
to
work
to
be
able
to
buy
his
ale.
Lizzie
obviously
got
fed
up
of
this
and
he
arrived
home
from
the
pit
one
day
to
an
empty
house.
All
the
furniture
was
gone
and
the
only
thing
left
was
an
onion.
I
was
told
by
Margaret
that
one
of
the
last
things Lizzie said to her was ‘never trust a Gillon’
John
died
in
infancy
in
1923,
aged
1
year.
William
married
Charlotte
Anderson
of
Newcastle,
in
1951.
Maisie
married
James
Davidson
and
had
three
sons
and
Margaret
married
Robert
Wade
Hart
at
Morpeth
Register
Office
in
1956.
They
had
one
son,
Brian.
Robert
was
a
miner
working
underground
at Woodhorn Colliery. He later became a jewellery salesman then moved on to selling insurance
Robert Wade
was born at Amble in 1899 but died in infancy in 1900
Mary
Wade
was
born
in
1902
at
Amble
and
married
James
McKenna
in
1921.
They
had
two
daughters,
Doreen
born
1923
and
Muriel
born
1924.
Doreen
married
Walter
Hiram
Savory,
a
native
of
Cirencester,
in
1942.
They
had
six
children,
Doreen
born
1943
and
Margaret
M
born
1946,
both
in
Northumberland.
Their
next
four
children
were
all
born
in
Cirencester,
Charles
J
born
1948,
Trevor born 1949, Ann born 1950 and Colin born 1953.
Muriel married John Armstrong in 1941 but died young in 1949 at Cirencester
The
issue
of
the
1911
census
brought
a
new
member
of
the
family
that
no
one
knew
about.
Gertrude
Wade
was
born
in
1905 at Chevington Drift in Northumberland. Unfortunately she also died in infancy in 1905
