Thomas Hall 1866 - 1926  Great Grandfather & Isabella Wylie 1868 - 1924  Great Grandmother Thomas   Hall   was   born   in   1866   at   Akeld,   just   north   of   Wooler.   Isabella   Wylie   was   born   in   1870   at   Burton,   a   small   farming community   near   Bamburgh.   They   married   in   June   1892   at   Alnwick   and   had   six   children,   Thomas   was   a   gamekeeper,   listed   as a   rabbit   catcher   in   some   censuses,   but   was   working   as   a   platelayer   on   the   railways   when   they   got   married.   He   later   changed jobs and began coal mining. Their children were :- Mary Ann Hall was born in 1894 at Edlingham. She married Frederick W Hewson in 1919. I can’t find any children. James Hall was born in 1895 at Rough Castles, Edlingham and he married Hilda Browne in 1920. I can’t find any children. Isabella Renton Hall was born in 1897 at Eglingham, Robert Hall was born in 1900 at Eglingham. He married Margaret M Clark in 1922 at Stakeford. In the Birth Marriage and Death Records there are three children born to a father Hall and mother Clark within the expected year range and one a little earlier. Unfortunately I cannot verify that they are their children until the 1931 census is made available. Sarah Eleanor Hall was born on 22 February 1901 at Eglingham, my paternal Grandmother. Olive Hall was born in 1904 at Moor Laws, Alnwick. I have been told by family members that she married J Forman but have not been able to find any records to prove this.
