John Wilkinson    Family Tree
Home Home The Swinburne Line The Swinburne Line The Tempest Line The Tempest Line The Widdrington Line The Widdrington Line How Many? How Many?
Extras Because   of   the   number   of   people   in   the   tree,   it   is   not   possible   to   cover   all   branches,   so   I   have   concentrated   on      some direct   lines   and   tried   to   keep   to   children   and   siblings   within   these   lines.   There   are   some   families   who   entered   the tree   several   generations   back   who   were   ‘A’   listers   in   their   day,   and,   because   of   their   importance,   had   acquired   lots   of information   in   Burks   Peerage   and   other   historical   documents.   The   families   I   have   decided   to   enter   in   the   website are   Swinburnes,   Tempests   and   Widdringtons.   I   think   that   the   Grays   as   in   Earl   Gray   tea   might   also   come   into   this category but I have not researched this yet. A   further   page   lists   how   many   grandparents   everyone   has   in   each   generation.   For   example   Roger   Thornton   who died    in    1429    is    my    16xGGrandfather,    and    he    is    one    of    131,072    16xGGrandfathers    and    Richard    Tempest,    my 24xGGrandfather   is   one   of      33,   554,   432   24xGGrandfathers.   I   think   whatever   DNA   will   be   well   diluted   before   it   gets to my generation.
The drawing above was given to me by a good friend, Norman Jones. I’m pleased he found out where Hesleyhurst is
